Wexford County Council on Aging (COA) is a local nonprofit 501-C3 agency established in 1974 charged with serving seniors age 60 and older throughout Wexford County, Michigan. The agency is governed by a 15 member Board.

The COA brings together federal, state, and local grant funds as well as local donations and millage dollars to make up their budget. These monies are used to provide a variety of services to seniors throughout the county. The COA greatly depends on donations to help maintain their programs.

"Our mission is to collaboratively provide, manage, and source an integrated system of health and human services for Wexford County seniors and disabled adults with chronic illness or disability."

Our Vision: Wexford County Council on Aging strives to enhance the quality of life for senior citizens and disabled adults by providing assistance that offers them the ability and choice to remain safely in their homes.

Our Values:

  • To treat all people with compassion, dignity and respect.
  • To encourage and welcome diversity and individuality.
  • To assist seniors in making and implementing choices that maximize their independence and quality of life.
  • To preserve seniors' lives, health, and properties while promoting self determination.
  • To encourage intergenerational understanding and promotion of shared activities.
